This painting represents glimpses of a vivid memory I have when I was young. It was Spring time, and the plants were in bloom, the sun shinning. My little brother and I were running through the tall fountain grass, chasing dragonflies as fast as our legs would carry us.

We ran farther and farther away from our home, which at the time seemed like we were running into the unknown world, along with adventure. I was seven, and he was four years old. Our parents sheltered us, and we didn’t run off like that often, but I guess we just felt in the moment.

We had uncontrollable laughter, the sun blinded us as we jumped for the dragonflies. We laughed until we eventually collapsed, because our bellies hurt of laughter.

The dragonflies disappeared but I still felt incredibly happy in that moment.
